Citizens’ Entrepreneur Development Program
The Citizens’ Entrepreneur Development Program (CEDP) is a privately held company established in Zambia to promote entrepreneurship at every level of society. We believe that in doing so, we can make citizens more financially independent and less reliant on state assistance. CEDP has so far secured national and international funding to promote these goals and entrepreneurship in the region.
The Citizen Entrepreneur Development Programme (CEDP) is a brainchild of the Economics Association of Zambia aimed at enhancing wealth creation Wealth Creation through the promotion of entrepreneurship. This initiative was born out of consultations with various government departments at the highest level after the hosting of the National Economic Summit. In the CEDP, model businesses are created following realistic planning, launch, monitoring and review. Our vision for the next two years is to create 1.2 million jobs.
The Economics Association of Zambia has partnered with acclaimed organisations, including African Green Resources, a world-class Zambian agriculture company, overseas anchor investors, and domestic NGOs, to launch the Citizens Entrepreneur Development Program (CEDP) platform. It has led to the creation of CEDP Zambia Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to deliver the project.
The CEDP brings together private and public organisations in supporting business creation through the provision of funds, business skills, capacity building, input support on commercial terms and provision of market for goods produced.
