Our flagship of Citizens Empowerment Development Program, strengthens and expands the impact of youth and women led social ventures in Zambia. As a complement to our countrywide fellowship, we support a network of national and regional organisations that are driving the development of youth and women leadership.
The initiative is open to all citizens regardless of race, tribe or political affiliation and is private sector-led, converting viable business ideas into profitable ventures that will trigger job creation, especially among youth and women groups. The initiative will be rolled out in all 10 provinces of Zambia starting with Luapula province.
At its core, CEDP Zambia Limited is based on the belief that Zambians are hardworking and have initiative, given the opportunities. This new project will provide the creation of businesses and jobs; it will provide the tools; land where necessary, capacity training and building. To be successful the CEDP will support on markets and marketing, targeting the uplifting of all citizens but beginning with youth and women across every Chiefdom.
The Economics Association of Zambia, African Green Resources, and its partners have mobilized $1m for the CEDP Zambia Programme. The intention is to reach over 1 million beneficiaries in Zambia and, hopes other key players in the economy and international NGOs to come on board this important initiative.
